Fervent.
Fervent is a five piece hardcore band that loves to play hard at every opportunity. The band comprises of Joon Lei-drums, Jerome-guitar, Shaun-lead guitar, Brandon-bass and Jonathan-vocals. They draw their inspiration from bands like Underoath and Defeater, where passion and raw emotion is surfaced on their music, however the style of music writing is based solely on our individual creativity. They’ve have been around since October 2010 and have been playing for the past 9 to 10 months. They derive their passion for music in the cause of finding a sound that is appealing and relative to people yet at the same time spreading a positive life message to them. THey hope to inspire more people to make music and live life to the fullest!
Tacit Aria.
Post-Hardcore, alternative and metal is just some of the genre influences integrated into Tacit Aria’s style of music. They further pushed their musical boundaries with every step to create their own, significant sound as well as keeping within reach of their heavier influences.
Due to the diversity of each of the band member’s personal tastes, their music is a mix match between tunes that are heavy, thick and in your face with vocals ranging from a tiny melodic tone to big anthemic choruses. Apart from all that, the band values creativity so much that every song stands poles apart in terms of structure and technicality.
Currently, the band is busy recording and laying down tracks for their upcoming LP in 2010/2011.
A Vacant Affair.
Formed in 2003, A Vacant Affair (AVA) cut their teeth in Singapore through its’ obscure ‘hardcore’ denomination, and soon garnered reputation for their frenzied live performances, steadily earning their way up concert rosters. The band released their self-titled 5-track EP at Singapore’s acclaimed music festival “Baybeats” in 2006. Their atypical performance exposed mainstream audiences to a band whose material balanced the underground genres together with contemporary melodic sensibilities. This milestone served to profile AVA as a band worthy of headliner billing.
They Will Kill Us All (MY).
Music is always an inspiring flashpoint for the passionate. There are millions of
soundtracks to the great moments in history, and music has been proved to inspire the most disparate group of people to come together for a common cause. And music is indeed the raison d’être for the existence of They Will Kill Us All. Formed in 2007 from the ashes of various legendary but now defunct musical groups in Kuala Lumpur, four seasoned musicians – Amir Shazlan, Edwin Raj, Ihsan Ariffin and David Leong – banded together in a singular vision of producing an energetic, forward looking sound that is unlike any other in Malaysia.
When the vision was revealed in their early 2009 debut release ‘Secret Episodes’, the band basked in its muscular and forceful sound. But never one to be content, they labored hard to step up their game in the quest to find their own unique voice. Over time, the heavy buzz of distortion now made way for single notes and more ethereal textures; the lyrics darker in its connotations; the rhythm more propulsive. As a testimony, their recently released single ‘Under The Red Sky’ signaled this intention to be better than ever.
The addition of Wandi on keyboards has also inspired the band to explore
new sonic territories. ‘The Great Glass City’ meanwhile showcases their self proclaimed ‘noise pop’. The noise is evident in the soaring guitar lines, yet it is tastefully embellished with melodic sensibilities and driving rhythm. With the band now putting the finishing touches to their sophomore release, They Will Kill Us All certainly is making good on their promise to deliver great inspiring music.
Much love.
