LOOP CELEBRATES ITS 1ST YEAR OF REVIVING TECHNO TO THE LOCAL MASSES, HOME CLUB

Singapore’s very own purveyors of techno, LOOP, celebrates its 1st year anniversary on Saturday, September 3rd at Home Club, right at where it was birthed 12 months ago.

Since it burst into the scene, LOOP has been more than just a narrowly defined genre or style. It is the only local club night that runs in two different musical meccas, serving a range of techno sounds to the different demographics at the unadulterated audio-visual bliss of Zirca and the intimate and aesthetically-minimal space of Home Club.

Touted as “the people’s crew”, Loop is a welcome lifeline of energy to the local underground. Finding friends amidst techno aficionados, discerning dancefloor dwellers and those looking to just cut loose, Loop has successfully struck a balance between pleasing and educating through digestible techno music, which is friendly yet free from the commercial trappings of dance music.

After a brief hiatus, Singapore’s very own underground party of the month is now revived.

Drowning in different music genres for years has bestowed upon Av Neesh (JUICE DJ Quest Champion 2010, DMC Mauritius 2007 Finalist) the skills to turn raw sounds into tunes that will not only push your emotional buttons, but also linger around you even after the music has ended. He can easily transport you from the most silky smooth downtempo dinner/sundowner tunes to the hands-in-the-air housebombs and peak-rocking techno tunes in the main room of a club.

An avid clubber turned self-taught DJ and music promoter whose versatility and impeccable music taste has scored her several accolades such as JUICE DJ Quest Champion ‘08, JUICE Best New DJ ‘08, and I-S Magazine’s 2010 Top 10 DJs. From being one of the scene’s fastest player to secure DJ slots in the most respectable music venues in Singapore within the first year of her debut, to an advocator for the underground sound in this part of the globe, EJ has garnered a dedicated following tuned to her frequencies. Meddling with downtempos, house, minimal and techno that are all digitally-contoured mostly for the discerning audience, EJ sees herself expanding her music versatility while spreading her wings beyond this ‘lil red dot, one beat at a time.

Artihc (aka Firman Chitra, JUICE DJ Quest Champion ’09), has, over the last few years, taken his love for the universal language of music to various levels, with Minimal, Tech House, and Techno as his new soundscapes, joining the league of his usual sound sof Drum & Bass, Breaks, Broken beat, Triphop and Down Tempos. It’s always about the feeling, the realness of the music and its hidden message. There, he’ll put on a carefully selected track, and gladly take you all with him through his silent technical wizardry.

Co-founder of Home Club, Singapore’s truly underground club, loopinmotion is Kelvin Tan. Born in Singapore, he was schooled by the warehouse rave scene of Melbourne and is influenced by the sounds and philosophy of Detroit Techno. A multidisciplinary DJ, he has had more than adequate experience working behind the scenes in every aspect of dance music event management and currently holding a residency at Home Club Singapore. A no-nonsense approach to putting tracks down to the floor, loopinmotion will churn out tracks with both speed and composition. Relentless, uplifting and introspective, he brings both rhythm and strings for both your feet and mind. An experience deep and uncompromising, he is a DJ who uses both experience and technical skill.
