We are thrilled to present the second show of the three-part Comedy Masala One Year Anniversary Open Mic Series. Join our Resident MC Umar Rana, as he continues the anniversary celebrations! Masala #51 features THREE headlining comedians from Malaysia supported by 13 comedians (including one debut!) from Comedy Masala.

Jason Leong will make you slap your knees, ache your belly and tickle your funny bone! Jason’s rise in the urban KL comedy scene has been stellar. He is a regular for Time Out KL Comedy shows and has performed with industry greats such as Douglas Lim and America’s bad boy of comedy, Tom Rhodes. Jason also performed in “Laugh Off Asia 2011” the hugely successful comedy show where he represented Malaysia in the battle for laughs against Comedy Masala! Wittier than your average Facebook status update, Jason is scandal free and Government approved! Handing Jason the mic is dangerous, because he can actually kill you with laughter!

Kavin has been voted the grumpiest Indian comedian in Malaysia for his love/hate relationship with his life, love and country. He complains about everything, so that you don’t have to. His inappropriateness ranges from mild to terrifying but he will leave you wanting more! He has performed with international acts such as Dave Callan (IRE), Pierre Hollins (UK), Vir Das (IND), JJ Whitehead (CAN), Chris Wainhouse (AUS), Rob Brown (AUS), Paul Ogata (USA) and Stephen Grant (UK).

RIZAL VAN GEYZEL

Born to a Chinese Dutch Father and a Malay Turkish Mother, Rizal is generally confused about what or who he is, but once he takes the stage, you won’t doubt he’s in fact 100% Malaysian! Rizal has finally found his, as quoted by Harith Iskander, “big balls” in doing stand-up comedy after a 5 year stint in America. A regular at TimeOut KL Comedy Thursday, Rizak was also part of the hugely successful comedy show “Laugh Off Asia 2011” where he battled for laughs against Comedy Masala!
